My name is Noah Wakefield,
I’m a sculptor and painter.

I was born in Oregon but grew up in Garland Texas, a suburb of Dallas. I served in the Navy as a welder for ten years. I was stationed on ships in Guam and Norfolk Virginia and fortunate to travel to ports around the globe. I then attended The University of Texas at Austin and earned a degree in government and discovered blacksmithing by taking night classes at Austin Community College. I earned my MFA in Sculpture at Texas Tech University. I mostly work in steel or other metals although I have been oil painting for the last few years too. Some of my steel sculptures are made in Johnstown Pennsylvania at the Center for Metal Arts. They have the best tooling and equipment and it’s the place where I feel most at ease when creating larger sculpture.
